Eighteen, turning nineteen. Currently taking a part-time Interior Designing course at NAFA, and aspiring to be an interior designer in future. Mad love for chick flicks (Yes, I'm quite a girly girl) and I love to dream. Before the world ends, I want to get married so I won't die alone, heh. Peace out. ^o^

I'll blog about my dental trip tomorrow k. I've been seeing a lot of status updates on Facebook and Twitter from boys who are enlisting during these few days. Every time I read those stuff, I feel so god damn thankful that I'm a girl. 2 years seems long, though time passes quickly, but it's still horrible. Getting scolded, physical training for 5 days per week. And you only get to sleep on your comfy bed twice a week. :( I feel so sorry for all the boys, my friends who are enlisting soon. I WISH YOU ALL GOOD LUCK AND ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR TRAINING. YOU ALL WILL BE FINE. Think of it as a responsibility of protecting your family and loved ones. After all, being a soldier is pretty honorable. :)
Hai I feel so superficial saying all this. Is like I'm saying 风凉话and I should just shut up since I'm not gonna be the one enduring all the shit. But still, I'll pray for the safety of all the army boys (except those people that I don't like luh of course).
ALL THE VERY BEST TO MY ARMY BOYS FRIENDS. :)
Oh my, I'm one hour away from my dental appointment. Currently taking the train on the way to meet my mum. Ah I'm kinda excited. And quite scared. Excited cos I haven't been to the dentist since years ago. Scared not cos of the pain, but more of the reliability of the doctor. Cos this is the earliest slot the receptionist could give me, so I won't see the regular family dentist. :/ I really hope I'll be fine. My teeth hurt now, though I finished my ibuprofen already so I'll just have to 忍 until the session is over. Or maybe a few days after that... Oh well, I'll be fine! Shall blog again tonight. :)
GOOD LUCK TO MYSELF!

Okay I just read someone's blog (that someone cong stalks often :P). She was saying how she and her bf will start point out all the things they want in their future home while shopping at Ikea.
It was like OMG I DO THE SAME THING. Like every single time we go to Ikea we do the same thing. Never gets bored manz. :O Especially since we stay in the east, makes Ikea window shopping a whole lot more convenient. :D Yay okay shall plan Ikea date soon. I still have two free ice cream to claim! :D

Pre-除夕夜
Reunion dinner was at ah ma's house, just like any other year. We had steamboat. And yusheng. I'm beginning to like yusheng I think. It's addictive. :)

I love reunion dinners at home. Home-prepared and all, makes reunion dinners more traditional and meaningful. :) (Cheaper also, save money.)

除夕夜
Reunion dinner with my paternal side's relatives at Pioneer Spring Gardens I think. It's some restaurant which we went a few years ago to celebrate my grandma's birthday or something. It's at Safra. Expensive max. Each table costs like $888+++ which probably added up to a thousand plus per table. Food was good though, and fast service, plus free flow of drinks - water/coke/sprite.
Yusheng again! Most dishes were awesome. Love Asian food manz. And traditional desserts ftw - black sesame tang yuan in red bean soup NOM.

初一
1) Nai nai's house. Actually every year is the same, first house was always nai nai's house. I was the last to wake up and took like more than an hour to get ready. :P I wore my First Date Dress from Lilypirates. Oops old dress, cos I wore it in Taiwan, but my mum insisted that its pretty, so I wore that instead of the orange dress I bought from Taiwan hmm.
But that stupid dress requires big boobs to wear, so the front part of the dress kept sagging and I had to use a safety pin to prevent exposure of excess cleavage.
Oh my, look at all the new year goooooodies on the table... I'm waiting for cny to be over so my nai nai will start distributing the food. :P My pathetic house only has bak kua and pineapple tarts, and a container of hazelnut coffee cookies. All given by people, we didn't spend a single cent.
We went outside to take this photo. Many many years back, we took a similar photo, where we stood according to our age. But this one is a bit of a cheat, since almost all the girls were wearing heels.
Thanks to my 4.44 inches heels (eee why is the number so inauspicious) I looked like I'm the second tallest. :D But this pair of heels was super worth it. Cost me NT 399 (less than SGD 20), super comfy, versatile colour and it's glossy. Me like. :) Bad thing is that it takes me quite some time to wear them cos of the shoelaces. And if you stand on soft soil, the heels will actually dig in. :O Not bad luh, the colours of my dress were pretty Chinese New Year-ish. :) Okay this is a fairer photo. No shoes.
2) Ah ma's house. Went to ah ma's house for lunch. Waited so long there for my cousins to arrive haiyo. Oh man, my baby cousin is so cute!
My ah ma cooked chup chai for lunch and some other dishes. Then we sat around to talk about random funny things. Damn awesome, I love the people at my maternal side. :) And my ah ma was telling us that she bought dresses for the baby for like $2.50 - $3 each. Wth right! Super cheap and nice. She took them out to show us. :O Ah my mum sucks at taking photos. It's not even focused. But I still like this photo. :) And yixuan's romper was very pretty! Me like. :D The two Rafflesians. Pft haha. Notice the similarities. Hm actually yixuan and I will look alike too with our glasses. ;D
My ah ma started talking about how chuan kai used to be a naughty baby, and that he'll give this damn innocent face after he does mischievous stuff so my ah ma won't have the heart to beat him. :)
Ah so cute. :D
3) Uncle's house. Usually we'll head to my yeye's house before going to my uncle's house, but they already fetched my yeye there, plus his new house is too small to accomodate everyone.
Ate yusheng again, but this time, with all the good stuff like abalone and salmon. :)
Went back to the room to play our mahjong after eating the yusheng. Totally no luck at all. Played like ten over rounds the entire night and we only won one game. -.- Dinner was super good. There were so many kinds of meat - saba fish, beef, ginseng chicken, ma2 you2 chicken, braised duck, abalone, pork etc. All homecooked. :)

初二
I woke up earlier, but I was still the last one cos I took another hour to get ready. :/ Didn't even bother tying my hair. Wore my cheap mustard dress from some random shop in Toa Payoh. $12 only heehee! And I like the lace at the back yay!
1) Iris' uncle's house. I don't know what we call him, cos we only see them once a year and all we say were "Hello! Happy New Year *shakes hands*" or just "Hi, xin nian kuai le!" Um yea. :P His house is super artsy fartsy. That's my model house. Just wait, next time my house will be like his haha.
Mahjong. We took turns, so chunmei and shuenhwee and chernhwee took turns to play Monopoly Deal with my bro. Spot them in the background. Haha my bro is damn good at it, maybe he can be a property agent in future hmmm...
Iris took one seat, I took another with hernghwee. Szekhuen and kerncheh shared one slot. :) Won about 3 games. Not bad already luh. :P
Lunch was at Macs @ West Coast. So many people omg!
Bought my Happy Meal but they didn't have the Hello Kitty toy I wanted, so I settled with the 3rd design. The person almost forgot about my toy, I had to remind her. :( Plus my cup corn had no more margerine. And they forgot about my spoon. And they mixed up my dad's normal fries with twister fries. But it's okay cos twister fries are more expensive. *cheapo* Oh and they gave my cousin extra twister fries. :P But I'm not blaming them luh. There was really a lot of people and they did try their best to get us our food asap.
Bah I'm tempted to call twister fries curly fries. Doesn't that sound cuter...
2) Lao gou's house. Usual place too. But every year, we'll die from boredom cos we don't know anyone there, and they have no mahjong, so we'll play poker in the kitchen. This year kerncheh prepared like Uno, MonoDeal and poker cards so we could entertain ourselves. But in the end, some uncle ended up teaching us how to play some ancient card game. You know those long colourful cards the old aunties and uncles play at the void deck.
Quite fun, but it's so complicated my brain can't take it. :O 3) Aunt's house. Mahjong time!! Kerncheh went home to take his mahjong set so we can have two tables playing mahjong. In the end the other table decided to play the ancient card game. Bad mahjong luck again aiyo. Only won one round. D: Looking cui at the end of the day. :O
Dinner was Sakae delivery. Some prosperity plate haha!

初三
Met julian for dinner at White Sands. Macs! I was determined to get the snowboarding Kitty hah! And I got it~! :) Julian came over to kill time while we watched csi cos of the free channels. :D Until about 10 plus, we left the house to meet nathan at Pasir Ris Interchange.
Went to miranda's house for sleepover. Luckily we cancelled the midnight movie plan. Saved us 10 bucks and we spent the whole night playing mahjong. The mini one, damn cute lah.
I won like 5 games and lost the rest, so after the first 4 rounds, I earned about $4+, but I lost everything by the time we ended. Net earning was 70 cents haha! Miranda won the most. The boys not very lucky lah. Julian lost like 2 bucks. But we kept the stakes small, so the game was affordable. :P My first attempt at 13yao1. I had 9 out of 13 tiles. :O I tried it again after that, but obviously didn't work. Woah if it did, all of them would be pok. :P Anyway, we played till 5+AM. First time. :P

初四
Breakfast at White Sand's yakun. Yay traditional Asian breakfast ftw! So delicious. Actually it was our brunch, cos we ate at about 12 noon. :P We sat around to talk for a bit.
After they left, I waited for my mum at White Sands cos she needed to do some shopping. Ended up accompanying her for grocery shopping at NTUC.
Course at night, and julian came to fetch me after his OG dinner. :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup that's about all my cny activities for 2012, or rather, Year of the Dragon. The next post will likely be about my toothache. And then julian's enlistment. Oh maybe I'll do some "10 reasons why I love CNY" post haha, if I'm bored enough. :P
And omgosh my toothache is killing me. I have some decayed tooth/teeth somewhere in my mouth which prolly need(s) extraction/ fillings. Whatever, the doctor can do anything to me, as long as it guarantees improvement in my oral health. Save my ass (teeth) please!!! Luckily there was some slot on Monday so my initial appointment on 29th has been pushed forward. Thank goodness. Its so packed I booked it on 1st Jan this year and got a slot on end Feb. -.- I sort of can't wait for Mon. Its been years since I last visited a dentist. A foreign doctor though, cos our usual one is only free on Wed but this Wed she's fully booked ugh.
WISH ME LUCK! *Keeping my fingers crossed* :

Saturday, January 21, 2012

Hi blog, its 2AM now, and I'm still not asleep. Last night was pretty shitty. I kinda had some minor stomachache that kept going on and off, and something else bothered me, which I don't wish to say here. :/
I was syncing my phone. Damn it took me near 2 hours. -.- And I had to change all my apps and delete and add new ones cos this comp contains the data of 3 iPhones, plus my phone is running out of space. :( While syncing, I was watching videos of Boyfriend Tag on YouTube, and just watching random videos of couples. I don't particularly miss bb or what, but the videos made me happy. It's nice to know that there are so many happy people in the world. :) That's why I like the movie New Year's Eve. All the happy people counting down to a new year. :)
I'm feeling so much better right now. Just need to be positive. Ah, my blog is getting so dead, I'm like talking to myself but its okay! My blog keeps me happy. Can't imagine life without it, after recording my life for almost 6 years. Wow, that's an achievement. :)
When I wake up later, I shall decorate the notice board I bought at Giant. My bro and I agreed to share. So I shall pin up photos of bb and I which we developed the other day at Parkway. I shall now refer to him as bb, so much easier to type, plus it's what I call him anyway. The name originated from weishan and jacq haha, bb being boy boy, but whatever lah it sounds like baby too. :) Then one day I shall develop photos of squadmates and pin it up too. :)
Tonight we will have reunion dinner at my ah ma's house. Steamboat probably, traditional reunion dinners. And I shall do tribal nails for cny. Hopefully they'll work out, cos I'm not very confident of drawing with my left hand. Shall do nails on Sunday. Plus my mum's. I picked out a really simple and feminine design for her. :)
Oh man, you know what, next time my house will be woody and tribal-ish. I love tribal prints and colours. :O And I bought a new feathery brown dream catcher from Taiwan which I hang above my bed. I'm recently into friendship bands too. Too lazy to make myself though, but bb and I bought one each from Taiwan and we bought two more each yesterday. Now I have three on my ankle, and I don't take them out when I bathe cos I'm very very lazy.
Ooh it's now 3AM. Goodnight.

Thursday, January 19, 2012

Yay now I can post large photos cos there is a lot of space on my blog. :) Monday was squad outing - 1 of 12. :) Wanted to go Pitstop for the surprise belated birthday celebration for gao chuxi, but apparently Pitstop died or something, and they inconsiderately not update that on their website. No wonder when I tried calling to book on Sunday, the line didn't get through. -.-

Ended up in some Japanese restaurant, which I think is gonna die soon too, cos the lady boss was kinda desperate. She waived the 10% service charge plus we got free Hokkaido ice-cream. :O There were no one in the restaurant, so we practically stayed there till 9+PM. :) Talked about squadmates' jobs, and random stuff. :D Yay. The food was good, but kinda expensive. :/
After dinner, we went to the riverside for photo. Melia and hong sneaked off to buy cake for chuxi (they came up with the excuse of needing to pee), but somehow only cong knew, while the rest of us were complaining how lousy melia was at finding toilets, and that melia was probably shitting away haha. :P
Anyway, it was a good night. Short but sweet. :)
NEXT SQUAD OUTING: 15 Feb @ Clarke Quay - Korean BBQ! :D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two Sundays ago, was class outing at East Coast Park. I don't know if it's a class outing or not cos only six people went. I must be possessed when I agreed to yuhan's message, cos I freaking don't know how to cycle (and I am not interested to learn tyvm)! But anyway, I told him I'll only go if someone double-bike me.
And yup. Ended up double-biking with yuhan (mostly) and waikhin. The rain was bad and made my bag wet and dirty. :( Plus our journey to the longass-road was cancelled cos of the rain and we ended up seeking shelter in a pavillion from the heavy rain. :(
When we cycled back, the rain stopped. -.- Since we didn't have much time left, we went to Bedok Jetty to enjoy the scenery. Guessed which plane was taking off, watched people fish, and all. Took a group photo as well. :)

Dinner-ed at Carl's Junior. The person gave an extra packet of fries and since I was sharing a meal with Wannqin, we managed to save near $2 each cos of the free fries and free flow of drinks. Shhh. :P But Carl's Junior's servings were really big. And expensive. I'm going back to Macs hah.
Anyway, that was about it. Yay to direct bus home from Parkway Parade. :D

Saturday, January 14, 2012

Oh yay! New look for my blog. I changed the template and made my own background using Cath Kidston wallpaper, but there's still something wrong with my blog. I can't place gadgets on the left and right sidebars, so I can only make do with this. :P Blog archives, blog list and to-do-list are below. :) There's still the whole chunk of empty space at the bottom, probably some html fault which I can't figure out. :( Nevermind luh, MY BLOG IS STILL CHIO. Yay! :D

-----------------------------------------------------

Continuing the Dear John post...

I just remembered another movie with the same idea of two people in love but the guy is serving the nation somewhere else - New Year's Eve. That was the part I started crying, when the nurse webcammed her boyfriend on nye while wearing her new dress, then he disconnected. Super disheartening. If I'm her I'll kill myself. :( Aish, if we have world peace then we wouldn't need the army right... Bah I'm crapping. Shall go finish up my course homework.
19 and I have no access to my own bank account. How pathetic.
Just watched Dear John, and I started crying when it was barely half an hour into the movie. This post is not going to be like the other posts about movies, so I'm not gonna rant about how hot Channing Tatum was. But the movie really set me thinking.
You know the worse kind of ending to two people in love is that the guy has to go to the army or fight in a war, leaving the girl to wait for him. I was crying the whole time, crying over the complexity of life, crying over how tough it was for the two of them, crying over the fact that in two weeks time bb is going to be in the army.
I know Singapore's army is not like that of America. He doesn't need to travel too far, and I can still see him during the weekends, but it's still gonna be hard. I'm dependent on him. He helps me to settle a lot of things, he helped me a lot back in HC with my homework, sometimes he settles my meals, he fetches me from NAFA after my course cos it was late and he was worried about my safety... I see him every other day And two weeks later I'll be on my own. I don't really wanna think about it but I'll have to face reality anyway.
Two years. It's gonna worry me a lot, because no matter what, there is still a certain level of risk he will be in. I really wish for the best.
Actually come to think of it, maybe having the world end this year is a good thing. The world is a perfect place without the human race. It dawned on me while I was watching Nat Geo in the afternoon. Because of the complexity of the human mind, we complicate the nature. We create conflicts, wars... Everything that we can do without. If our presence doesn't help make the world a better place, ending everything once and for all is a good idea. I apologize if you feel that I'm thinking too much and am dramatizing everything, just wanna pen down how I'm feeling now. Sorry.

12 pieces of tissue. It really made me think a lot.
